Pieter Pauwels (Wilrijk, 1977) obtained his law degree at KU Leuven with distinction in 2000, after completing his candidatures in Namur.
Pieter joined the Dendermonde Bar in 2000 and started his internship with lawyer Francine Pauwels, where he mainly practiced family law and corporate law. In 2001-2002 he completed his studies with the Specialized Study of Corporate Law at the University of Antwerp (Master in Corporate Law).
After his internship he further expanded his law practice with a special interest in corporate law and contract law, but he also remained very active in all family law files of the firm. He also became a youth lawyer.
Pieter has been a partner and director of Wanted Law Sint-Niklaas since January 2006.
In 2011, Pieter was appointed Deputy Justice of the Peace in the Justice of the Peace of the Canton of Sint-Niklaas. In January 2014 he was sworn in as bankruptcy trustee at the Ghent Enterprise Court, Dendermonde Department. In January 2016 Pieter obtained the certificate of the special training “cassation procedure in criminal cases”.
In April 2018, Pieter was certified Data Protection Officer (D.P.O.).
In July 2019, together with Joachim Vanspeybrouck, he founded the Wanted Law group, of which Pauwels Advocaten became a department under the name Wanted Law Sint-Niklaas.
Pieter also regularly gives seminars on tenancy law for an audience of lawyers and magistrates.
