Young talent at Wanted Law Sint-Niklaas: Bram Callebaut
At Wanted Law, we strongly believe in the power of young talent. This year, several motivated interns are once again given the opportunity to take their first steps in the legal profession. One of them is Bram Callebaut, a second-year Master’s student in Law at Ghent University. During an observation internship at our Sint-Niklaas office, he had the chance to bridge the gap between legal theory and day-to-day practice.
Bram received a warm welcome and quickly became part of a team where collegiality and approachability truly matter. He also found it especially valuable to work alongside both experienced lawyers and junior trainees, which gave him a broader perspective on the profession.
As a second-year Master’s student in Law, I was given the opportunity at WANTED LAW in Sint-Niklaas to bridge the gap between legal theory and everyday practice during an observation internship.
From the moment I stepped into the office, I felt very welcome. I joined a team where everyone—despite the high workload—was exceptionally friendly and approachable. What made this internship even more valuable for me was the diversity within the office. I was surrounded by lawyers with years of experience, but also by trainees who had only just started at the Bar.
Through that interaction, I was able to view the profession from different angles: from the very first steps in a career to the routine of an experienced courtroom advocate.
Although my personal interest and passion lie mainly in criminal law, during this week I was able to explore a broad spectrum of legal practice. I attended hearings in various courts, ranging from civil proceedings to criminal (correctional) cases. In addition, I had the opportunity to work on files substantively and to sit in on client consultations. That combination made me realize that the legal profession is extremely versatile, challenging, and above all a very people-focused job.
I look back on this week with great satisfaction and I am very grateful to the entire WANTED LAW team for the valuable insights that I will certainly take with me into my future career.
Thank you, Bram!
We would like to thank Bram for his enthusiastic commitment and eagerness to learn during his observation internship. With his involvement and fresh perspective, he brought great energy to the team. We wish him every success in completing his studies at Ghent University and in the next steps of his legal career.
