PRESS: Joachim Vanspeybrouck quoted in article on asbestos in companies
In a September 2, 2025, article in HLN, Joachim Vanspeybrouck was briefly quoted.
Recent research by the Labor Inspectorate, commissioned by ACV and published in HLN, shows that 6 out of 10 companies do not maintain a valid asbestos inventory—a legal requirement intended to prevent exposure to asbestos fibers, which can cause serious lung diseases and cancer. Smaller companies without a specialized prevention advisor score particularly low: in this group, a staggering 64% do not comply with the regulations, compared to 36% in larger companies, which is considered "culpable negligence."
According to ACV, prevention should be more central, because without regular inspections—on average, these only occur every 30 years—compliance remains an issue.
Wanted Lawyer Joachim Vanspeybrouck is quoted at the end.
