The Young Dynamism at Wanted Law Bruges: Flore Vanmoerkerke
At Wanted Law, we love giving young talent every opportunity. This summer, we welcomed several enthusiastic interns to our team. One of them was Flore Vanmoerkerke, who interned at our Bruges office. She shares her experiences below.
Flore Vanmoerkerke is a second-year law student at Ghent University. Before starting her law degree, she obtained a bachelor's degree in social work. She currently combines her studies with a part-time job as a student assistant at a hospital in the Ghent region. This practical experience outside the classroom has proven invaluable to her.
During her summer internship at Wanted Law Bruges, Flore had the opportunity to actively participate in a variety of legal assignments. She assisted in drafting summonses and notices of default, attended consultations, and had the opportunity to attend court hearings. The firm took her interests and strengths into account, allowing her to work on cases involving construction and building law, tort law, contract law, and intellectual property rights. She also discovered how different legal domains are often intertwined in practice—for example, the intersection between family law and corporate law.
This summer internship not only confirmed that I'd made the right study choice, it also reinforced my motivation to delve deeper into the field. What struck me most was the communication within the firm and with clients: open, honest, and clear. I felt the same transparency within the team, where there was room for questions, feedback, and dialogue. I felt that trust was placed in me, which gave me a real sense of belonging.
Thank you Flore!
We look back fondly on Flore's time at Wanted Law Bruges. Her thoughtful approach, enthusiasm, and strong social commitment were immediately noticeable.
Flore, thank you for your dedication, your curiosity, and the pleasant collaboration. We wish you every success with the rest of your studies and hope that your internship with us will be a lasting anchor in your professional development.
