PRESS: contribution in the Journal for Tax Law by Paul Verhaeghe on the independence of lawyers
At the end of February, the article 'Effective judicial protection of the independence of lawyers; consequences for duties and prohibitions regarding legal advice' was published in the Tijdschrift voor Fiscaal Recht, with our own Wanted Lawyer Paul Verhaeghe as author.
The article analyses the judgment C-432/23 in 3 parts: (1) the decision and reasoning of the judgment, (2) the positioning of the ruling within the broader case law of the Court of Justice and the ECHR, and (3) the consequences for national and EU regulations that intervene in legal advice provided by lawyers.
