The Young dynamism in the office of Wanted Law Bruges
We were able to welcome Lore Huyghebaert from August 22 to September 2, 2022 for her summer internship at our office in Bruges.
As a final year at the Faculty of Law at Ghent University, she was immersed in the workings of the office for 2 weeks. What comes her way afterwards, she will decide after some more moments of experience.
The short time at Wanted Law Bruges, during which she was able to work together with our Wanted Team, will hopefully help her in her choices: continue studying notarial law or take the plunge into professional life?!
Lore Huyghebaert Lore Huyghebaert about her internshipover haar stage
We asked Lore what she thought of her internship. This is what she told us:
'My summer internship at Wanted Law in Bruges gave me the opportunity to get to know the profession hidden behind the gown more closely. For example, I discovered that a lawyer comes into contact with various legal domains on a daily basis and must be familiar with all markets. As a result, no day is the same and you are never bored.
I also saw that the legal profession is not only about losing or winning, but also about building bridges with the other party in order to work out an amicable settlement that is beneficial to both parties. For example, during my summer internship I had the opportunity to follow a mediation and I saw the advantages of this alternative way of resolving disputes in practice.
Already on my first day I noticed the warm and cozy atmosphere in the office. Everyone was willing to advise and assist me and to answer my questions about the legal profession and the desk internship. That way I can better imagine what it exactly means to be a lawyer.
In short, I can only recommend a summer internship at Wanted Law.'
We thank Lore in advance for her enthusiasm and her commitment! Whichever option she chooses - further education or a career start - we wish her the best of luck!
